چکیده

Pristine TiO2/Au (P-TiO2/Au) is modified by hydrogen plasma (H-TiO2/Au) or and oxygen (H-O-TiO2/Au) treatment, then used as electrochemical catalysts for nitrogen reduction reaction (NRR). H-TiO2/Au shows enhanced performance the NRR process compared with both P-TiO2/Au H-O-TiO2/Au. After hydrogenation some disordered regions on surface of TiO2 nanoparticles are formed, a large number vacancies incorporated into crystalline structures. When samples NRR, yield NH3 about ten times to that three H-O-TiO2/Au, while highest Faradaic efficiency 2.7% also obtained at potential −0.1 V catalyst. The density functional theory (DFT) calculation results confirm layer much preferred energetically process. It proves adsorption N2 molecules catalyst reduced barriers due presence defects play an important role in improving catalysts’ performances. show technique can be efficient method modify processes.

Synergistic Effect between Metal-Nitrogen-Carbon Sheets and NiO Nanoparticles for Enhanced Electrochemical Water-Oxidation Performance.

Identifying effective means to improve the electrochemical performance of oxygen-evolution catalysts represents a significant challenge in several emerging renewable energy technologies. Herein, we consider metal-nitrogen-carbon sheets which are commonly used for catalyzing the oxygen-reduction reaction (ORR), as the support to load NiO nanoparticles for the oxygen-evolution reaction (OER). FeN...

Enhanced light absorption of TiO(2) in the near-ultraviolet band by Au nanoparticles.

We propose a scheme to enhance near-UV band absorption of a rutile TiO(2) nanoparticle by placing Au nanoparticles in its neighborhood. The discrete-dipole approximation method was employed to calculate the absorption spectrum of pure rutile TiO(2) and that of TiO(2) mixed with Au nanoparticles. The results indicate that pure rutile TiO(2) has its maximum absorption located in the deep-UV band....

Enabling electrochemical reduction of nitrogen to ammonia at ambient conditions through rational catalyst design.

Commercial design of a sustainable route for on-site production of ammonia represents a potential economic and environmental breakthrough. In an analogous process to the naturally occurring enzymatic mechanism, synthesis of ammonia could be achieved in an electrochemical cell, in which electricity would be used to reduce atmospheric nitrogen and water into ammonia at ambient conditions. To date...

Characterization of La/Fe/TiO₂ and Its Photocatalytic Performance in Ammonia Nitrogen Wastewater.

La/Fe/TiO₂ composite photocatalysts were synthesized by Sol-Gel method and well characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), nitrogen-physical adsorption, and UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectra (UV-Vis DRS). It is interesting that the doped catalysts were in anatase phase while the pure TiO₂ was in rutile phase. In addition, the composites possessed bette...
